Brand Discovery and Identity
To kick off this project, I first met with Mark to find out what his business does, and what makes it unique from his competitors. Much of the discussion focused on Mark’s personal attention to every client, and his commitment to ensuring that each one receives “signature” service, regardless of how big or small they are.
From there, I decided that a tastefully rendered version of Mark’s actual signature was the perfect symbol of his brand’s essence. After many iterations, the mark was eventually rendered in a fashion that was visually appealing, but also true enough to his actual signature to remain authentic. Strong, timeless typefaces were selected to complement the mark and reinforce the values of his business.
Upon approval, I designed an entire print identity package, including business cards, letterhead, envelope, and pocket folder. A natural, fibrous paper stock was selected for its warmth, simplicity and character. The signature mark was printed in raised thermography to mimic an actual, still wet from the ink, signature.
The final step in completing the entire brand identity was creating a new website for Mark that echoed the logo and print collateral. Working with the rest of the VividFront team, new copy was written and a responsive (optimized for device screen size) site was designed and launched. Custom photography of local landmarks and Mark was coordinated for use throughout the site.
